This town is definitely perfect for a student. Salamanca means more than just naming a place, it is indeed a proof of the varied heritage in Spain. Personally, I would say that Salamanca portrays some of the former better well-known features of the country; this is those concerned to food and the affinity for traditions. Fortunately, Spain scores very high in terms of cuisine therefore anyone who comes to Salamanca will enjoy quality food and tasty wine. Just a remark for vegetarians and vegans, it is going to be a hard time for you! Although I can only recommend two vegetarian restaurants, or you may prefer food from other nationalities, in this case there are plenty of them.
Why did I say before that Salamanca was the due place for students? Well, apart from its history and background as ‘town of students’ statistics reveals that almost half of the population in Salamanca during the scholar year is formed by students, mainly coming from any other region of Spain. I do not know the exam number, but I have heard we students could increase the current population in nearly 50.000 more souls. Such large young population implies a high number of pubs and bars where students gather and have great fun. These places open every single day so if you feel in the mood any night could become a wild party.
